The City of Armadale is proud to take on the challenge for the Largest Perth Kilt Run on Sunday 14 September in Minnawarra Park, Armadale.
2013 marked the Perth, Western Australia inaugural run in the Largest Kilt Run event and this year we will once again take on the challenge.
Mayor Henry Zelones said you can participate by doing the 5km Challenge, or join in the fun with the 2.5km Leisure Run while raising money for a worthwhile charity.
“Perth, Canada and Perth, Scotland have been competing in this challenge for a number of years and we are keen to beat the record of our namesakes this year.
“To be able to do this we need people from all over Perth. From the northern suburbs to our southern regions, from the coast to the hills - we call on all ‘Sandgropers’ to put on a kilt and take part.
“Register as an individual runner, family or team. There are also prizes in a number of categories for the first male, female or team to cross the finish line, most creative outfit, youngest and oldest competitor, and even a family prize.
“So bring the kids along and get the entire family involved in this challenge – to put Perth, Western Australia on the tartan world map”, said Mayor Zelones.
Following the Kilt Run, continue celebrating the day with all things Scottish at WA’s largest Scots-themed event, the Highland Gathering – held every year right here in Armadale at Minnawarra Park.
It will feature Scottish and Irish dancing, a Medieval Fair, Strong Men Competition, Celtic food, arts and craft, children’s activities and much more.
Please note the Perth Kilt Run is a wheelchair accessible event.
