The City of Armadale’s #TheDale competition has had resounding success with people from all over Perth submitting photos of their favourite places in and around Armadale.

The #TheDale campaign has received hundreds of submissions of locations all around the City, including the hills, parks, shopping facilities, events and people.

Weekly prizes were awarded to entrants and Roleystone local Danielle Leanne took out the major prize of a $5000 shopping spree in the City with her image of her dogs exploring the hills.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said #TheDale was designed to motivate people about the positive things they can do, see and experience in Armadale.

“Before this campaign a lot of people didn’t know much about our City and what we had on offer. Once this campaign kicked off residents started to act as their own advocates for the area. They submitted their entries and encouraged people to get out and see what our City has to offer as well as sharing it with their friends and family across the state.

“One of the greatest results of this campaign was seeing our community come together to promote the City. Those who live here know how great our City is and how much there is to love. This campaign allowed us to share this with the wider Perth community through some spectacular images.

“There were 361 photos uploaded, more than $7000 worth of prizes awarded, more than 25,000 new people reached though every week and the #TheDale campaign was seen 218,000 times on social media,” he said.
