The City of Armadale is advising residents currently on the A Smarter Way to Pay direct debit payment system that there is a slight change to some deductions during the Christmas/New Year period.

“Payments that were to fall on Christmas and New Year’s Days will be deducted one day earlier, as the banks are closed on those public holidays,” said Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP.

Direct debit deductions due Friday 25 December, will now be deducted on Thursday 24 December.

Direct debit deductions due Friday 1 January 2016, will now be deducted on Thursday 31 December.

“The City’s A Smarter Way to Pay is a unique direct debit payment system that provides residents with flexible payment options when it comes to Rates time.

“The City is one of a few local governments in WA that provides residents with an option to pay their Council Rates in weekly, fortnightly and monthly payments. This reduces the stress of lump sum payments, which is especially welcome at this time of year,” said Mayor Zelones.

The City’s administration office will close at noon on Thursday 24 December and will re-open on Monday 4 January, 2016 at 8.15am.
