Throughout the year the City of Armadale hosts a series of Positive Ageing Sessions at the Armadale Library and other venues to engage older members of the community.

The workshops are held each month and cover a wide range of topics such as safety and security, health, current activities and useful information particularly relevant for older people. The next Positive Ageing Sessions series are:

Fighting Depression

Wednesday 2 October, 1.30 - 4pm
Armadale Library

With Mental Health Week approaching join Tony, an ambassador for Lifeline WA, as he discusses the struggles he experienced with depression as an older person.

Tony now encourages people to seek help sooner and provides ideas on how to manage depression.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) 101 and Mental Health

Wednesday 2 October, 3 - 4pm
Armadale Library

Do you have a disability that impacts your day to day life and activities, or know someone who does?

Join us for this presentation with a National Disability Insurance Agency officer who will cover:

  • An overview of the NDIS
  • Eligibility
  • What the NDIS can fund
  • Psychosocial Disability and the NDIS
  • Access and Evidence for Psychosocial Disability
  • NDIS and other support systems.
