Throughout the year the City of Armadale will be hosting a series of Positive Ageing Sessions at the Armadale Library, and other venues throughout the City of Armadale, to engage older members of the community.

The workshops are held each month and cover a wide range of topics such as safety and security, health, activities for older people and other useful information.

Emphysema, bronchitis and asthma
Wednesday 7 June, 1.30 – 2.30pm

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is an umbrella term for respiratory diseases such as chronic bronchitis, emphysema and asthma.

A presentation from Lung Foundation Australia will be delivered by a representative of Juniper Community explaining what COPD is, the symptoms and some tips to manage these health conditions.

Doula Care
Wednesday 7 June, 3 – 4pm
Armadale Library

Nicolette Smith from The End of Life Care will discuss what a Doula is and the support services available for carers and people who are in a major life transition such as major surgery, illness or a life limiting scenario.

Nicolette will inform you about planning tools available such as wills advanced health care planning, funeral options and much more.
