Throughout the year the City of Armadale will be hosting a series of Positive Ageing Sessions at the Armadale Library to engage older members of the community.

The workshops are held each month and cover a wide range of topics such as safety and security, health, activities for older people and other useful information.

Wednesday 1 June
Armadale Library

Coeliac Disease, 1.30 – 2.30pm
A representative from Coeliac WA will discuss:

  • How to recognise the signs of coeliac disease and gluten intolerance.
  • Managing the disease.
  • The importance of a gluten free diet for people with coeliac disease.
  • Gluten free foods.

Pet Care, 3 – 4pm
A representative from Roleystone Animal Hospital will discuss and answer questions on:

  • Keeping your animals healthy.
  • Looking after older pets and common conditions that develop as pets age.
  • What to consider when looking for a new pet.

Let’s Get Crafty - Flower arranging for beginners
Thursday 9 June, 10am – noon
Armadale Library

Members of the Southern Floral Art Group will conduct a workshop on flower arranging for beginners, with each participant taking home their own arrangement. Get handy tips on arranging flowers and information on joining the local Southern Floral Art Group.

Participants are asked to bring a pair of scissors and a bucket. Flowers, a base and other materials will be supplied at a cost of $15 per person payable on the day.
