Throughout the year the City of Armadale will be hosting a series of Positive Ageing Sessions at the Armadale Library, and other venues throughout the City of Armadale, to engage older members of the community.

The workshops are held each month and cover a wide range of topics such as safety and security, health, activities for older people and other useful information.

Cyber Crime and protecting older Australians

Wednesday 2 August, 1.30 – 4pm
Armadale Library

Older Australians, along with the rest of the population, face a number of online risks and threats.

David Cook, researcher at Edith Cowan University’s Security Research Institute will present COTA WA’s Cyber Crime seminar and will cover; how to recognise online deception, protecting yourself from phone and computer scams, Email stings, how to identify theft and social media tricks, access to money and internet fraud.
