Rolling in the Armadale Hills

Rediscover the rich history of the City of Armadale as this guided bus tour takes you through Armadale, Kelmscott, Roleystone, and Bedfordale before venturing deeper into the Hills for lunch and returning to the Visitor Centre.

Sensory fun for babies!

Walking the Camino with Noel Braun

Noel Braun struggled to find himself after the suicide of Maris, his beloved wife of 42 years. Endeavouring to find some anchorage, he embarked on a spiritual quest of self-discovery.

Noel decided to walk the most popular routes of the Camino, the ancient pilgrimage route that lead across France and Spain to Santiago de Compostela in the north-west of Spain.

Noel has written several books on his three journeys which were undertaken while he was in his seventies and eighties.

From Hamel to Montbrehain - the last fifty miles

Sunday 11 November, 1 - 3pm

This Remembrance Day marks the 100th anniversary of the World War 1 Armistice - a declaration that ended the fighting that had begun in 1914.

The July victory at Hamel followed nearly 100 days later with the Australian troops breaching the German Beaurevoir Line at Montbrehain. During the battles, five under-resourced divisions of the Australian infantry defeated 39 divisions of the Imperial German Army, liberated 116 French towns and villages, and captured nearly 30,000 prisoners.

Linton Reynolds is a dedicated researcher of the local enlistees who committed themselves to fight for King and Country. This session will trace the history of the events that took place between July and November 1918, and how new battle strategies changed the course of the war.

The Wasteless Pantry

Jeannie and Amanda are two local hills women who are determined to create solutions to the world’s plastic pollution problem and tackle food waste at the same time.

They have founded The Wasteless Pantry, a zero waste concept store where customers can buy their pantry staples packaging free, along with reusable items designed to help us wave goodbye to a disposable life.

Come along to an interactive workshop on reducing the waste in your kitchen and beyond and learn to Waste Less, Live More!

Ye Olde Narrogin Inne: How Old is Olde?

When the plain old Narrogin Inn became 'Ye Olde' it wasn't particularly Olde at all. So what was going on?

Perhaps surprisingly, the answer lies with trains, bicycles and automobiles. The history of the Narry is closely linked to the history of the wider Armadale district, yet few know the real story behind this fascinating hotel.

Join Eddie Marcus, a historian with a particular interest in how the service of alcohol explains Western Australia's past.
