Author Steve Adams comes to Armadale

World traveller and Aussie larrikin Steve Adams will be at Armadale Library on Friday 19 June, 6.30 to 7.30pm to talk about his book Monkey on the Wing.

His book explores his story as he went from living a wild and exuberant life to being in an accident that took his eyesight and nearly took his life. Monkey on the Wing explores the long and painful journey back to health and the experiences he went through to gain his life back despite losing his sight.

Lunch at Lia

The City of Armadale is partnering with the Kelmscott Church of Christ (KCC) to provide lunch for those who are socially isolated, homeless, at risk or living in poverty.

The program offers a safe environment and a nutritious meal in a setting that fosters community spirit.

Lunch is served every Tuesday from 11.30am to 1.30pm at the Kelmscott Church of Christ, corner of Lake and Centre Roads, Camillo.

ABS staff canvassing homes in the City of Armadale

The Australian Bureau of Statistics will be canvassing addresses in the City of Armadale from May to September. This work is to develop the ABS Address Register, a comprehensive list of physical addresses and land use in Australia.

The ABS Address Register will be used to support population statistics including the Census of Population and Housing.

ABS Officers will have official ABS field identification visible at all times. They will be walking and observing physical addresses and will not make contact with residents in private dwellings. At no stage will the ABS be collecting personal information. However, ABS Officers may need to approach businesses to seek additional information.

If you have any questions, or would like additional information regarding the field exercise, the ABS is currently undertaking call the National Information Referral Service on 1300 135 070 Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm (EST).
