Babywearing

Babywearing is the practice of wearing or carrying a baby in a sling or in another form of carrier. Babywearing has been practiced for centuries around the world.

You will learn about the benefits of babywearing, safe and optimal positioning, and have the opportunity to view and try a variety of carriers. An experienced babywearing consultant, from The Practical Possum, will be on hand to demonstrate.

Armadale Young Writers’ Awards – free workshops

Armadale Library will host five free workshops for students in years 3 to 10 who live or go to school in the City of Armadale.

Author Jen Banyard will host a fun writing workshop with tips and tricks to inspire young writers. Jen’s books include Spider Lies and Mystery at Riddle Gully.

Meg Caddy will run an informative workshop focussing on young adults. Meg is the author of Waer which will be published this year and was been shortlisted for the Young Adult and Children’s Writing Text Prize (2013).

To help students create their entries for the Armadale Young Writers’ Awards, Living in Armadale category, Rosinda Seara will host a researching and historical essay workshop. Rosinda is the head of Humanities and Social Sciences at Rossmoyne
Senior High School.

There will also be a tour of Birtwistle Local Studies Library.

Bush Tucker

Dale Tilbrook from Maalinup Aboriginal Gallery will host a bush tucker tasting experience.

Discover more about the distinctive taste and aroma of Australian bush food.
