Australia Day is expected to look a little different than usual around the country in 2021 as the wider community continues to recover from the impacts of COVID-19.

Instead of the City of Armadale’s annual event in Minnawarra Park, we’re encouraging you to enjoy activities in your own home, so that we can ensure everyone’s safety on the day.

We’ll have your entertainment sorted as the City partners with 107.3 Heritage FM to provide a live Australia Day broadcast on Tuesday, 26th January. Listeners can tune in from midday through to 9pm.

“We’re encouraging our community to get involved by hosting your own Australia Day party – invite your family around for a barbeque and sit back and relax to Heritage FM,” said Mayor Ruth Butterfield.

“While it is disappointing that the City’s usual Australia Day event will not go ahead, we hope we can bring you a bigger event again in 2022, including the return of our much loved food stalls and kids activities.

“However you choose to spend the day, it is important to stay safe by keeping a distance from others and following good hygiene practices.”
