The beauty of the Perth Hills Armadale and nature at its best were captured in entries to the recent photographic competition run by the City of Armadale’s Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre.
Locals and visitors to the region during April and May were encouraged to post photos to Facebook or Instagram to showcase their autumn adventures while out and about in Armadale.
Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said over 250 entries were received with the winning images hitting the competition brief and highlighting the uniqueness of the hills region.
“Two Apple iPad’s were awarded to Bianca Collins and Matt Skellern, both keen hobby photographers and residents of Armadale.
“Bianca’s winning entry was taken at the Armadale Settlers Common which is located within the Darling Scarp and offers various walking trails with an abundance of birds and wildlife for keen nature lovers.
“Her beautiful landscape image, captioned ‘Armadale’s best kept secret’, captured the rolling valley vista taken from a high vantage point in the reserve at sunset.
“The runner up was a moving close up of two female Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoos perched amongst colourful autumn leaves in a deciduous tree, captured by Matt Skellern,” said Mayor Zelones.
