National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is an annual month long writing event held during November for aspiring authors.

Join us for this introductory session to learn about the upcoming events and activities for writers in the local area.

Write-ins at the library

Writing can be a solitary gig, but it doesn’t always have to be that way. If you are an aspiring author and want to meet likeminded people that share your passion for the arts, then come along to these sessions, where you can work on your story, but have the motivation and enthusiasm of other writers around you.

Local author Rebecca Laffar-Smith will answer any questions you may have and offer support as you enter or continue your project.

Saturday 7 and 14 November
1 – 3pm

Writing session with David Whish-Wilson

Join talented West Australian author David Whish-Wilson as he describes his exciting role in the writing world.

Listen to him explain his research and writing processes and gain insight into his published works, including Perth, Zero at the Bone and Line of Sight.

Wednesday 25 November
6.30 – 7.30pm

Developing and selling a novel

If you have ever wanted to publish your own story or are just unsure about how to sell a novel then come along to this special session about self-publishing.

Linda Bettenay, author of Secret Mothers Keep and Wishes for Starlight, teams up with her husband Mike Moore, to share their experiences of the publishing process.

Thursday 10 December
6.30 – 8pm

All sessions will be held at the Armadale Library, Armadale Central Shopping Centre, Armadale, and are proudly presented by Write Along the Highway as part of National Novel Writing Month.

Refreshments will be provided at all events. Bookings are essential for all events except the Write-ins. Visit library.armadale.wa.gov.au or call 9394 5125.
