Once again, the City of Armadale and the National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) are asking the community to share their experiences of living and working in the City as part of the Voices of the Outer Suburbs project.

Mayor Henry Zelones said the City of Armadale is one of the fastest growing local governments in WA and statistics show there is an average of 10 people moving into the area every day of the year – which equates to around 30 new homes being built every week.

“As residents, ratepayers, workers, young people and business owners in our fast growing City, you are directly impacted by this rapid growth and have a significant stake in our future.

“Our City contains some of Perth’s oldest areas and it’s important our established suburbs also benefit from the investment and growth of our district.

“We want you to tell us what you like (or perhaps don’t like) about your suburb, and what you would like to see in the future. Submissions can be made anonymously and people of all ages are invited to take part in this project.

“By taking part in this project, and relating your experiences of living or doing business in your suburb, your input will enable all levels of government in Australia to hear directly from the people.

“Everyone’s story can assist with advocacy for infrastructure and services needed in the fast growing outer suburbs,” said Mayor Zelones.

The NGAA will collate the themes from the stories and send them to the relevant local councils for their information, so that policies and advocacy programs can be established for the future.

Contributions can be made in a variety of media including photos, links to videos and audio, and in writing.

You can visit the website and read some of the stories already submitted – then add your contributions to the Voices of Outer Suburbs project.
