The Jull Street Mall will come alive over summer with a regular Friday lunchtime music series from 6 February to 27 March.

Showcasing an exciting diversity of local Armadale artists, from hot country banjo picking to the sultry sounds of the Argentinean tango, the Jull St Mall performances will bring great musical talent and vibrancy into the heart of the City.

Echoes of Django – Gypsy Jazz
Friday 13 February, Noon - 2pm

Echoes of Django brings a sound that quickly transports you back to the era when gypsy and jazz became one.

Zukhuta – Contemporary African Rhythms
Friday 20 February, Noon - 2pm

Featuring the electric guitar wizardry of Mahamudo Selimane from Mozambique, Zukhuta play an infectious East African groove combining Congolese Rhumba and contemporary African guitar music styles.

Katherine John – Classic Sounds
Friday 27 February, Noon -2pm

Kelmscott local, Katherine John has an extraordinary voice and an extensive repertoire traversing through sultry soul, blues and jazz, to dance, rock, pop and contemporary music of all the decades’ right up to current top 40.

Salma Gundi – A Feast of World Music
Friday 6 March, Noon - 2pm

Featuring Bedfordale local, Cathie Travers on accordion, Salma Gundi serve up a substantial musical experience of groove, melody, harmony and brilliant interpretations of their wide-ranging world music repertoire.

Jarrah Celts – Celtic Folk
Friday 13 March, Noon - 2pm

Celebrate St Patrick’s Day early with the Jarrah Celts featuring Roleystone local Chris Horgan on percussion and double bass, multi-instrumentalist David Hyams on mandolin and guitars, and Eleanor Firth on fiddle, Jarrah Celts play a fine blend of Celtic jigs and reels from Ireland and the UK.

Ziggi Bey Jan – Senegalese Kora
Friday 20 March, Noon - 2pm

Ziggi Bey Jan is a musician and dancer extraordinaire from Senegal in West Africa. Born into a family of traditional griot musicians, he has mastered the art of combining traditional and contemporary music.

Edmond and the Butterfly - Dynamic Hits
Friday 27 March, Noon - 2pm

Edmond and the Butterfly are a dynamic acoustic duo that plays an extensive repertoire of classic pop, rock, soul and RnB material. Featuring former Forrestdale local Zalia Joi on vocals and ukulele with Shannon Smith on guitar.
