Pack your picnic baskets and rug and bring your family and friends together for a relaxing outdoor cinema experience when Movies in the Park returns this month.
The annual series will kick off this Saturday 17 March with Despicable Me 3 playing at Reg Williams Reserve in Armadale.
Pre-show entertainment and activities will begin from 6pm, comprising demonstrations and performances from community groups and clubs including: Roleystone Men’s Shed, United in Diversity, Explosive Dance, Armadale Society of Artists, Dramability, KidSport, Dale Hockey Club, Armadale Christian Football Club, Armadale Gymnastics, Roleystone Gymnastics and Seville Dragons Basketball Club.
These groups and clubs have been involved in the Inclusion Solutions mentoring program run by the City to increase accessibility and inclusion in their membership.
On 24 March and 14 April, as part of the pre-show entertainment, the award winning Armadale City Concert Band will provide a musical spectacular by performing popular music and movie themes.
Local community groups will be running a sausage sizzle at each movie and sweet treats will also be available for purchase.
In celebration of Bike Week, at each of these movie nights residents and their families can ride to the event and get a free bike service from the Bike Doctor. A secure marquee will be available to store bicycles during the event.
And if your love of peddling takes over, you can try the Blender Bike, a pedal powered bike that blends smoothies!
This is an alcohol and smoke free event. No pets, candles or sparklers are permitted in the parks.
