The public are invited to the official launch of the City of Armadale’s new Greendale Centre on Thursday 8 November at 10am.

The building which was built in 1972 has recently undergone a $2 million redevelopment partially funded by a Lotterywest grant and is now a modern multipurpose venue available for use by all members of the community.

Boasting a variety of dementia-friendly, functional spaces the Greendale Centre contains an outdoor area, digital hub and accessible features.

The launch event will showcase groups that are currently using the space, including activities by the Greendale Art Club, a Funtastic Exercise demonstration and indoor social bowls.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP will officially open the Centre with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“I encourage everyone to come and see for themselves what this new modern space has to offer and the many possibilities available,” he said.

“Armadale is one of the fastest growing regions in Australia and the City is committed to meeting the community’s needs in providing places for people to connect, interact and have access to services.”

The Centre is just one of four major revitalisation projects currently underway within the City of Armadale which also includes the Armadale District Hall, the Champion Centre and Seville Grove Library.

Two shuttle services will operate from Armadale Central Shopping Centre at 9am and 9.30am, seating is limited and bookings are essential. ACROD parking is also available, please contact the Greendale Centre on 9399 5393.
