Residents of Seville Grove, Camillo and Champion Lakes will get the opportunity to meet their local police, and gain an understanding of how the Frontline 2020 policing model that has been operating in the district can work for them, at a community Meet n Greet in July.
The Commander of the South East Metro Police District, will present on the positive changes and successes of the Frontline 2020 initiative, at the Harold King Centre, Groveland’s Drive, Camillo, on Saturday 26 July from 6pm.
Local police officers will be introduced and be available to have a cuppa and chat with community members.
Frontline 2020 is a major reform program that will extensively restructure the WA police force to address the increasing demand on resources. The aim is to be more efficient, more productive and more locally focused and to connect better with the community.
Mayor Henry Zelones said the Meet n Greet will provide an opportunity for residents of the Seville Grove, Camillo and Champion Lakes communities to put names to faces, not only with the local policing teams but with neighbours.
“Getting to know your neighbours is a proven way of improving safety. Knowing those around you helps prevent crime and reduce anti-social behaviour.
“The development of these local policing teams operating at ‘grass-root’ community level means residents can have greater contact with their own local police team.
“The local police team will also be on hand at the Meet n Greet, to speak with residents on community safety and crime prevention to assist with preventing antisocial behaviour in your community.
“This is a great opportunity for the community to meet and greet local police, which will encourage community cohesion,” said Mayor Zelones.
