With Mothers’ Day approaching and gatherings of ten people now being allowed, it’s the perfect time to show our mums, grandmothers or those significant people in our lives, just how much we care.  If you’re looking for that perfect gift for mum, our City’s businesses have plenty of ideas so you can shop local and support local business.

While we might not be able to hug our mums or grandmothers at the moment, we can show our love in other ways.  Grab takeaway coffee and cake, or lunch from a local eatery and head to one of our wonderful parks for a picnic with your mum.

We can all make the experiences of COVID-19 a little easier by standing together as a community and looking out for each other.  Recently, we launched our #BeKind, Armadale campaign – highlighting the ways our City is sharing ideas to stay connected, healthy and supported during this time.  It’s been terrific to see so many people coming out of their homes and getting to know their neighbourhood, whilst staying mentally and physically fit.  Everyone seems to say ”hello” and have a smile to share.

I wish you all the best for the coming weeks and look forward to the easing of more restrictions soon.

Stay safe and be kind.

Cr Ruth Butterfield,

Mayor, City of Armadale
