The City of Armadale is holding two KidSport registration days during February for eligible applicants to be approved instantly.
KidSport, a partnership between the City of Armadale and the Department of Sport and Recreation is an initiative which provides subsidies of up to $200 per calendar year towards club fees for eligible applicants aged 5 – 18 years.
City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said these days it can sometimes be difficult to get the kids away from television and computer games to play outdoors.
“We all know everyone needs physical recreation to stay fit and active and participation in a team sport can not only provide that physical activity but also lead to improved social skills, and build lasting friendships.”
“The program provides a vital link for young people in the City who may not otherwise be able to afford a sporting club’s fees, by providing the opportunity to everyone.
Local families who hold a Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card are encouraged to register for KidSport to assist their children to participate in their chosen sport.
The registration days will be held on Thursdays 20 and 27 February from 3 – 6pm at the Armadale Library, Armadale Central Shopping Centre.
