Residents can be assured the Kelmscott Library is still open and welcoming visitors.

The library will move to Stargate Shopping Centre, Kelmscott in January 2016.

A plan of the new Kelmscott Library is available for viewing as a hardcopy at the Kelmscott Library and on the City’s website.

“The Stargate Shopping Centre is currently working on the structure of the new library, which will partially be in the space where the IGA and its loading bay were,” said Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP.

“This is a major project for the City and one which we are looking forward to completing this year. The relocation of the library will mean greater visitor access as well as improved facilities for library goers.

“The new library will be of a similar size to the current building, but it will provide much more useable, flexible space for customers,” he said.

The project is anticipated to cost $900,000 with completion expected by the end of the year.
