Come along and celebrate the City of Armadale’s free Kambarang Festival on Tuesday 12 October as the Bob Blackburn Reserve is transformed into a celebration of the season of Kambarang.
The Kambarang Festival is a free community event with live entertainment and activities for the whole family – everyone is welcome and it is a great chance to experience and celebrate Aboriginal culture.
Mayor Ruth Butterfield said this is a great opportunity for all our community to join together to welcome the fifth season of the Noongar calendar known as the season of Birth and participate in a wide range of activities including a welcome to country and traditional smoking ceremony.
“The event provides a chance for the wider community to engage with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and presents a learning experience which broadens understanding of culture and relationship with the land. The event aims to promote, respect and celebrate the diversity of our community.”
The festival will be held at Bob Blackburn Reserve, Seville Grove from 10am to 3pm. For more information visit www.armadale.wa.gov.au or call 9394 5000.
