Avoid boredom and visit the City’s libraries during the July school holidays and learn more about your superhero with all sorts of fun craft sessions.

Begin with a trip to Seville Grove Library on Tuesday 8 July, from 2 – 3pm, and draw your own superhero or create a comic strip under the guidance of cartoonist James Foley. This session is suitable for children aged seven to 10 years.

Children can dress up as a superhero and meet children’s author Chris Owen when he visit’s Kelmscott Library on Thursday July 10, from 2 – 3pm. Chris will read his book My Superhero and explain how it was made during a hands on craft session.

Do you want to solve a mystery like Geronimo Stilton? Then come along to Armadale Library on Monday 14 July, from 1 – 2pm, for some fun while you analyse evidence from the scene of a crime and use your super sleuth science skills to uncover the guilty suspect. This session is presented by Scitech and suitable for children aged nine to 12 years.

Everyone loves Dora the Explorer! Visit Armadale Library on Tuesday 15 July, from 10.30 – 11.30am, and meet Dora as you enjoy a special superhero story time, dance, sing-a-long and enjoy a craft activity. There is even the opportunity to have a photo taken with Dora!

Enjoy making a ‘superhero string’ at History House Museum on Wednesday 16 July from 10.30am. Children get to choose their favourite Avengers, add some colour then attach them to a string to hang in their own bedroom. This session is suitable for all ages.

Children have the opportunity to visit the new Armadale Book Cubby at Seville Grove Library on Thursday 17 July, from 2 – 4pm. Make your very own book about superheroes and a copy will be kept on display in the cubby for everyone to read. This session is suitable for all ages.

Complete your superhero holiday fun and join us for a special superhero pyjama story time, on National Pyjama Day at the Armadale Library Friday 18 July from 6.30 – 7.30pm. Children can wear PJs, listen to super stories, sing-a-long and also do a craft activity. This session is suitable for all ages.

Parents or carers must stay with their child during these events.
