Join us for an interactive morning of fun as the City of Armadale and the Greendale Centre partner with Playgroup WA to host an Intergenerational Playgroup Open Day, on Tuesday 20 January 2015 from 9 to 11am.

Mayor Henry Zelones said grandparents and other older adults are more than welcome to join in the fun with activities and a visit from Barn Babes animal farm.

“Intergenerational playgroups provide seniors and families with young children the opportunity to interact through play in a relaxed surrounding.

“The aim of the playgroup is to bridge the gap and foster understanding and respect between generations.

“The benefit of intergenerational interaction, through playgroups, is invaluable to the seniors, children and families that participate.

“Seniors not only enjoy a sense of fun whilst being around young children, but are also able to share their parenting knowledge and life experiences with young parents,” said Mayor Zelones.

Intergenerational playgroups are inclusive, intimate and an opportunity to broaden a child’s life experience in an enjoyable family atmosphere. This enables the participants to build relationships and encourages attendance.

The Intergenerational playgroups are free and will be held at the Greendale Centre, Coombe Avenue, Armadale every Tuesday morning during school term from 9 to 11am commencing on 10 February.

Limited space is available. Bookings are required by contacting the Playgroup WA Hotline on 1800 171 882.
