Nature is the best playground, and to celebrate the importance of outdoor play, the City of Armadale is teaming up with Educated by Nature to host a free Play Out in Nature event during the October school holidays.

And to prove there is no age limit on having fun, children are asked to bring a grandparent along to explore the natural environment of Rushton Park.

Recommended for school-age children, the workshops will provide opportunities for unstructured play and discovery among the park’s surrounds.

Children are asked to ‘dress for mess’ as adventuring, building and encouraging nature awareness will all form part of the day’s activities.

The workshops are free but participants are asked to bring their own refreshments.

The Play Out in Nature workshops will be held on Wednesday, 5 October from 10am to 1pm at Rushton Park Amphitheatre, Orlando Street, Kelmscott.

Places are limited and bookings are essential.
