The City of Armadale is inviting residents to have their say and make a submission on its proposed revised Local Planning Strategy 2014.

The City’s Local Planning Strategy 2014 (LPS) outlines strategic directions to guide the significant growth and development forecast for the district over the next ten years.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said the City welcomes comments on whether the District Zoning Scheme – Town Planning Scheme No 4 continues to be effective, needs amending, or whether an entirely new Scheme needs to be prepared.

“Following a review of submissions we receive on the LPS, the City intends to subsequently prepare a consolidation of Town Planning Scheme No 4 in accordance with Division 5 of the Planning & Development Act (2005).

“All submissions will be considered by Council before recommending a preferred approach to the WAPC for undertaking the next review of the City’s District Zoning Scheme”, said Mayor Zelones.

The Town Planning Scheme documents and information can be viewed on the City’s website at www.armadale.wa.gov.au or at the Administration Centre, 7 Orchard Avenue, Armadale.

The submission period closes on Friday 5 December.
