The City of Armadale is developing an Age-Friendly Communities Strategy to identify age-friendly features and barriers and potential improvements in your community.

Individuals and service providers will be consulted to inform the strategy. Their experience, diversity and knowledge will guide the City on how it can provide an inclusive and accessible community for people as they age.

All research and consultation for the Age-Friendly Strategy will be based around the World Health Organisation eight domains of city life. These are:

  • Outdoor spaces and buildings
  • Transport
  • Housing
  • Social participation
  • Respect and social inclusion
  • Civic participation and employment
  • Communication and information
  • Community support and health services.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said that by 2026 it is forecast that our population of persons aged 50 and over will increase by 7,983 to total 31,690.

“Based on what our community tells us we will develop a Strategy to guide the City for the next five years to implement what is required for the community as they age”.

If you would like to contribute to this strategy please join us for the breakfast community consultation to be held at the Roleystone Karragullen Seniors Club, 46 Jarrah Road, Roleystone on Thursday 27 April from 8am to 10am. Breakfast will be served at 7.30am and bookings are essential on 9394 5642.
