More than 3000 Armadale residents have participated in the Growing Armadale campaign, voicing their opinions on the future of the City of Armadale.

In order to keep future growth sustainable, the City embarked on its largest ever community consultation exercise in October.

Now completed, the results from the Growing Armadale campaign will form the basis of a review of the City of Armadale Strategic Community Plan 2013-2028 which will provide a blueprint for the future direction of the City and its community.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said the strategic community plan represented a shared vision that sets out long-term strategies to strengthen and build on Armadale’s unique assets.

“Armadale is growing at a rapid rate and it is important that we understand the pressures that come with growth so that we, as a City, can continue to remain sustainable while reflecting what is important to residents,” he said.

“According to early feedback, residents highly rated the local natural environment and city parks as well as the diversity within the community,

“They want the City to build on its reputation and think big for the future.”

“It was pleasing to note that our Council was seen as proactive and the survey has clearly prompted the City to advocate with State and Federal Government and other stakeholders, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development, transport and public safety.

“The number of respondents in the Growing Armadale campaign was a great reflection of the passion our community has for their City, and I thank all who participated.”
