Grab your kilts – the Perth Kilt Run is Back!
Release Date:
Friday, 12 August 2016

Registrations are now open for the City of Armadale’s annual Perth Kilt Run 2016.

Sunday 18 September will see Minnawarra Park a flurry with men, women and children all donning a kilt to compete in the challenge for the world’s largest Kilt Run. The run is expected to raise thousands for Beyond Blue, The Amanda Young Foundation and the Intensive Care Foundation.

Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP invites you to take part in the 5km Warrior Challenge, or join in the fun with the 2.5km Classic leisure run or walk whilst raising money for a worthwhile cause.

“Perth, Canada and Perth, Scotland have been competing in this challenge for a number of years. Now in our fourth year we hope to edge even closer to taking out the title of world’s largest kilt run.

“To be able to do this we need people from all over Perth to have some fun by donning a kilt and taking part in this charity fun run.

“Register as an individual runner, family or team. There are some great prizes available for not only the winners of the race, but for those who get creative and have some fun.

“So gather your friends and family to take part in the challenge and put Perth, Western Australia on the tartan world map”, said Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP.

Individuals and teams can register for the 5km Warrior Challenge, or the 2.5km Classic Leisure run or walk. All registration fees will be donated to Beyond Blue, The Amanda Young Foundation and The Intensive Care Foundation.

The Perth Kilt Run is just one of the exciting things to do as part of the 2016 Highland Gathering, Western Australia’s largest Scottish festival. Enjoy live Celtic music, strongman competitions, highland dancing, medieval fair, pipeband competitions, Scottish tavern, and food and craft stalls, all showcasing the Scottish culture.

Please note the Perth Kilt Run is a wheelchair accessible event and ACROD parking will be available on Neerigen Street.
