Residents can play their part in helping the environment by giving pre-loved items a second life at the City of Armadale’s Drop n’ Shop reuse centre.

Located at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, the Drop n’ Shop Reuse Centre provides savvy shoppers the opportunity to minimise waste going to landfill and find a bargain.

Items accepted at the Drop n’ Shop include furniture, kitchenware, garden items, bric-a-brac, building materials, tools, bikes, toys, electrical items and books. Some items are unable to be accepted including tyres, mattresses, child and baby safety items, computers, helmets and carpet. All items are accepted at staff discretion.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said the shop, operated by City of Armadale staff and supported by volunteers, aims to return useable items to the community rather than sending them to landfill.

“Residents can take their pre-loved items to the shop and help conserve resources. All items are inspected to ensure they are in a saleable condition.

“Refurbishing and reusing household items and discarded building materials conserves raw materials and saves energy compared to producing new products. The drop ‘n’ shop enables shoppers to do their bit by keeping resources out of landfill.”

All items are sold 'as is' and with some creativity your purchase can save you money and result in recycled products being used in new and innovative ways.
