The City of Armadale is now electric vehicle ready, with five EV charging stations installed and operational in the City admin centre and the Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre (AFAC).
This project received funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) as part of ARENA’s Driving the Nation Program. This grant was facilitated by the WA Local Government Association (WALGA).
Mayor Ruth Butterfield said, “The installation of the EV chargers supports the City’s commitment to sustainability, as part of our Corporate Greenhouse Action Plan 2020/21-2029//30, and aligns with the State and Federal Governments’ goal of achieving net-zero by 2050.
“Visitors to the City’s Administration Centre can now park and ‘charge up’ whist doing business or shopping in the City. Charging up your EV whilst doing a workout at AFAC is a perfect way to spend an hour.”
There are three stations at the 145 Jull Street Carpark, and two at AFAC. Each charging station has two ports which can be in use simultaneously.
There are four charging ports at the Admin Centre and four charging ports at AFAC, all available for public use.
There is one fast-charging port at the Admin Centre (145 Jull Street) which is available to the public, and another-fast charging port which is solely for City of Armadale fleet vehicles.
- The charging ports cost $0.35 per kWh
- The fast-charging port costs $0.55 per kWh (only available 145 Jull Street)
There is a two hour limit on all bays, and a 10 minute grace period after your two hour session has ended. After the grace period, overstay charges will escalate to $1 per minute.
Please visit the City’s website for more details about EV station usage.
