Despite a soaring temperature, the City of Armadale’s Australia Day celebrations attracted a big crowd to join in the festivities in Minnawarra Park.

A jam-packed evening of celebrations including carnival rides, water fun, a Backyard Bash community cricket match, live music and fireworks was enjoyed by all ages.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the City is very proud to host the Australia Day celebrations right here in the iconic Minnawarra Park.

“Every year we have more people attending the celebrations, making it one of the City’s largest events of the year.

“It was great seeing everyone really enjoying the water fun zone, rides and the Backyard Bash match. It’s a nice experience seeing the community all celebrating together.

“This year’s exciting stage program featured the Michael Jackson Tribute Show starring M J Alexander, local Aboriginal dance group Mungart Yongah, local emerging artists Dave Scott Trio and Tobias, the internationally renowned Soul Sisters – Katherine John and Elisabeth Gogos, and the much loved local act The Two Cent Professionals.

The spectacular fireworks show, with the soundtrack produced and broadcasted by Heritage FM, provided a fitting finale to Australia Day celebrations in Armadale,” said Mayor Zelones.
