The City of Armadale is hosting a Child Care and Community Expo, an inaugural initiative of the Educator Support Network, designed to promote the large range of centres and services available to the community.

It features exhibition stalls offering information on a range of children and family support providers and services available in the Armadale area.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the City’s Community Development team was working closely with a number of agencies and stakeholders to provide a unique one stop shop of services for families with young children.

“We believe this approach is an excellent way of providing information, and is a chance to boost awareness of health and wellbeing issues in young children.

“Accessing a range of services can be confusing and complex so we’re aiming to simplify the process by having the providers onsite at one convenient location.

“Families will have the opportunity to seek advice and referrals and access information on specialist programs.

“There will be a free sausage sizzle, and we have lots of activities to keep young children occupied.

“They will enjoy the Nature Fairy storytelling session with Rebecca Flanagan, roving wildlife with reptiles, owls and a dingo and other interactive activities during the event.

”The City of Armadale is proud to support and work in partnership with the community on projects such as this,” said Mayor Zelones.

The expo is being held at the Evelyn Gribble Community Centre, Ninth Road, Brookdale on Friday 3 February from 4pm to 7pm. Residents with or without children are welcome to attend.
