The City of Armadale continues its pattern of high growth with planning applications surpassing all previous years’ records.

The total number of planning applications received for 2014/15 were 1181, the highest ever received in a year.

“We continue to see unprecedented numbers of planning applications lodged. People are flocking to the City of Armadale for both residential and business purposes.

“Our residential growth areas of Piara Waters, Harrisdale, Haynes, Hilbert and Wungong are coming on board very quickly. We are expected to have an average of 14 people moving into the City every day for the next year (Forecast .id), which will be a huge boost to our population.

“Businesses are also seeing the benefit in establishing their operations in Armadale. Forrestdale Business Park continues to expand with industrial properties being snapped up with development quickly progressing and consolidation of sites in Kelmscott industrial area.

“With construction on the Hitachi 10 hectare site well underway, this $100 million project is set to act as a catalyst to attract a diverse range of other national and international businesses to the area.

“These are all positive signs that our City continues to move forward and establish itself as the heart of the southeast corridor,” he said.
