Give your canine fur baby a social day out at the City of Armadale’s annual Dogs’ Day Out at Rushton Park, Kelmscott on Sunday 1 October from 10am to 2pm.

Dogs’ Day Out event is for pet owners and their best (canine) friends, featuring dog products and service providers, free veterinary and animal behaviourist advice, obedience and agility demonstrations, a microchipping service, grooming and dog washes.

There is also an opportunity for pooches to put their best paw forward for the Best Dressed Dog Competition, or impress the judges with a trick or two. Face painting and bouncy castles will be on site for the children.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said that with a high rate of dog owners in the City, the event is well attended each year.

“There are over 11,500 dogs registered with the City of Armadale so we know there are many dog lovers living in our community.

“We anticipate that the event will draw the crowds again – it is a good opportunity to enjoy the spring weather in our local park with the fur family, meet and chat to the Rangers and receive free vet and animal behaviourist advice about cats and dogs.

“You can even have your pet microchipped at a discounted rate.

“We encourage responsible pet ownership including picking up after your dog and caring for their health. Microchipping and registering your dog with the Council is just as important and is beneficial to helping Rangers return them home should they go missing,” said Mayor Zelones.
