To ensure residents are armed with bushfire survival skills this season, the City of Armadale is hosting a Fire: Recovery and Resilience Expo on Sunday 4 November from 9.30am to 4pm at Roleystone Hall.

Gardening guru Chris Ferreria, together with Bushfire Safety experts Rohan Carboon and Richard Hammond, will discuss effective ways to protect your home from fire.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP will attend in the morning and said it was imperative that residents and businesses were bushfire ready. A fire wise Garden at the venue will be officially opened by the Mayor at 10am on Wednesday 17 October.

“The City’s own volunteer bushfire brigade works closely with fire and rescue services to ensure maximum fire protection for residents.”

“But in the event of a bushfire, every five minutes counts and your next actions are critical – so it is important to be equipped with the knowledge to ensure the safety of you and your loved ones,” he said.

The event will also host stalls with information, products and services on bushfire management, a Q&A session, and the opportunity to win a Firewise prize pack worth $1000. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
