Piara Waters Oval will set the scene for a free community safety day with an Indian twist on Sunday 15 October from 10am to 3pm. This is a result of the City of Armadale partnering with locally based Piara Punjab Club to launch Piara Masala, an exciting new community festival which will form part of Community Safety Day.

Along with traditional Indian food and entertainment, Constable Care will be joined by the Canning Vale Police, Kidsafe, and fire and emergency services, so residents can find out what is available in their local area. There will also be free car restraint fittings available (bookings essential).

Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP encouraged community members of all cultures to enjoy this free event which will be about all things safety, whilst celebrating Indian culture.

“There will be so much to do for the whole family, from the Constable Care puppet show to children’s rides and activities and delicious Indian food - you don’t want to miss it,” Mayor Zelones said.

Neighbourhood Watch, WA Police, local volunteer Bush Fire Brigades, Police Rangers, Roadwise, St Johns Ambulance, Mungart Yongah, Headspace, the City of Armadale and many more community services will be featured on the day, with health assessments, CPR demonstrations, and free minor bike services from the Bike Doctor.

“Safety is an important consideration for our community, and this event provides all the information you need to stay safe, while joining with neighbours and friends to enjoy a family fun day in Piara Waters,” Mayor Zelones said.
