The City of Armadale’s Community Garden and Urban Orchard Project at the Champion Centre is seeking community interest.

The City is inviting community groups and residents with relevant experience in gardening, reticulation and planning to join with us and be involved in the creation of this exciting community space which will be located in between the Champion Centre and Seville Grove Library.

The Community Garden and Urban Orchard will include seating, shaded areas and a sensory garden.

“The City is interested in forming a steering group that will plan and oversee the preparation and establishment of the garden,” said Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP.

The group will also work together to engage the community, support volunteers, work with local businesses and provide support and insight on a range of other matters impacting the space,” he said.

Those interested in becoming involved are invited to an information session on Thursday 12 November at 10.30am or 6pm. This is an opportunity to walk through the planned garden area to discuss the project.

A light lunch or supper will be provided, and registration is essential.
