The City of Armadale has been awarded $40,000 in funding from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to support local sport clubs over a period of two years.

Through the Every Club Funding Project grant, the City aims to support the management, governance and planning practices of local sport and recreation clubs by advocating existing well-run clubs, providing education and training opportunities for volunteers, and engaging broader community organisations.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP recently met with local Member for Armadale Dr Tony Buti, and said he was pleased with the City’s success in securing the grant.

“Those funds can now be used to support local sporting clubs and will go towards retaining the dedicated players and volunteers who run them.

“The program also aims for clubs to be more inclusive and help increase female participation along with Aboriginal Torres Strait Islanders and individuals from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds to ensure they accurately reflect the diversity in our city,” he said.
