The City of Armadale continues to grow at a consistent and rapid rate as evidenced by subdivision and development approvals reaching record figures for 2013 – 2014.
Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said while some local governments had seen a reduction in growth, this had not been the case in the City of Armadale which had seen an all-time high in 2013 – 2014 with 1646 lots created.
“A recent comparison has revealed that the major estates in Harrisdale and Piara Waters have accounted for 49% of the lots created, with significant lot creation also occurring in Seville Grove and infill development in Armadale and Kelmscott.
“This rapid growth reflects the realisation of many people that the new estates offer a quality lifestyle and an exciting new community.
“Lots recently created in Hilbert and Haynes are just the beginning of the expected future rapid growth within the Wungong Urban Waters district”, said Mayor Zelones.
The total number of all planning applications received by the City has also seen a significant peak during the last 12 months.
Despite it being the City’s busiest year ever, with 1212 planning applications to process, the City managed to maintain high levels of service, turning around applications well within the statutory periods.
Building statistics have also shown record growth with the total value of development growth up 91%, largely due to the higher value residential and commercial developments.
