City of Armadale residents will no longer need to purchase additional discounted tip passes from the City’s administration office or libraries for disposing of green waste or sorted rubbish at the City of Armadale waste facilities.

From 11 July, residents can pay at the weighbridge when dropping off sorted loads at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility and the Roleystone Green Waste site. Loads must be sorted and can be up to 1.3 cubic metres.

The discounted tip passes are in addition to the four tip passes that are attached to Rates Notices each year.

To receive the additional discounted tip pass rate, residents will now simply present two forms of identification: a valid driver’s license with their City of Armadale address, and an additional form of proof of residence in the City, like a utility bill or rates notice.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the new initiative will save residents time as they will not be required to come into the City offices to purchase an additional tip pass.

“Residents will be able to take their sorted rubbish and green waste to the facility for disposal and pay by cash or card at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, or by cash only at the Roleystone Green Waste Site.

“The environment will benefit too. By stopping the printing of additional passes, the City will reduce paper wastage and printing costs.

Additional ways to save when disposing waste can be found on the City’s website www.armadale.wa.gov.au/recycling-and-waste.

The Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility is located at lot 600 Hopkinson Road, Hilbert and is open daily from 8am to 4.45pm (except Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday).

The Roleystone Green Waste Facility is located on Springdale Road and is open Saturday and Sunday between 8am and 4.45pm (except Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day). From 12 September, the site will only be open on the first and third weekend of the month.
