Registrations are now open for race three of the SunSmart Triathlon Series, being held at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre on Sunday 18 February from 7am to 11am.
There are a range of distances available, catering for all ages, with a duathlon for non-swimming participants to run-ride-run.
Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said the City is delighted to welcome the SunSmart Triathlon Series to the area, along with its participants who will arrive from across the State.
“The Triathlon is not only a great opportunity for our residents to challenge themselves physically, but also a chance for Armadale to host a major event and show the rest of the State what a great place Armadale is to work, play and invest,” Mayor Zelones said.
The triathlon is part of a five race series being hosted across the State, which commenced in December 2017 and will run through to April.
Champion Lakes Regatta Centre will also set the scene for the City of Armadale Duathlon, the largest Duathlon in the nation, and a qualifying race to be part of the Australian team for the World Duathlon Championships.
“It’s fantastic to see the purpose built Champion Lakes and its surrounds utilised in this way, preparing athletes for global sporting events,” Mayor Zelones said.
