The City of Armadale is celebrating our community’s exceptional volunteers during the festive season with a photo exhibition at the Armadale Library, from 8 December to 22 December.

Armadale Volunteer Services and the City’s Club Development team put together the canvas photo display which depicts many of the community’s volunteers in action, from a variety of groups such as community and sporting groups, charity shops, museums and cafes.

Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said volunteers are the life blood to many community organisations and many would not be able to provide the same level of service without the amazing band of volunteers who give freely of their time.

“Volunteers have significantly contributed to the community over many years. Their community spirit and dedication to local projects is what continually improves the City of Armadale.

“Celebrating volunteering is the City’s way of expressing our gratitude to all those that selflessly and diligently work towards making the City of Armadale a better place to live.

“The same images are displayed in the centre of the Christmas wreaths located in the Jull Street Mall and are our way of acknowledging and celebrating those who give their time all year round, not just at Christmas”, he said.

To further acknowledge the valuable contribution volunteers make to our community, Armadale Volunteer Services and the City of Gosnells e-Volunteer Hub celebrated volunteering on Thank a Volunteer Day, Monday December 5 with volunteers living in the Cities of Armadale and Gosnells attending a free self-care workshop and luncheon.
