The City of Armadale will be celebrating International Day of People with Disability on Thursday 28 November 2024, with two world class paralympic athletes in attendance.
The Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre (AFAC) will be hosting an All Abilities Event, honouring the worldwide 3 December celebration of International Day of People with Disability. The event will start at 4.30pm and is free of charge to all attendees.
The event will see Paracanoe athlete Amy Ralph, and multi–Paralympic Games Para-triathlete David Bryant in attendance. These athletes have competed on the biggest stages for Australia and will be sharing their stories with us on the day.
Mayor Ruth Butterfield said: “We are honoured to host Amy and David as we celebrate International Day of People with Disability at AFAC. We look forward to a fun afternoon of all ability games and activities and would love for you to join us. Everyone is welcome.”
The event will include a selection of adaptive group fitness classes, giant games, Kelmscott Bulldogs Football Club conducting an AFL handball competition, Ability Gym, a Quiet Zone and a free sausage sizzle and pancakes.
