Minnawarra Park will come alive with a wide range of art, cultural attractions and entertainment at this year’s Minnawarra Festival celebrations on Sunday 6 April from 10am to 4pm.

A celebration of the heart of Armadale, the festival provides the opportunity to engage in vibrant, exciting, and interactive cultural experiences.

There is something for everyone to enjoy: aromas from around the world in the international food area; a coffee/chai tent area to relax and hide from the sun; two stages with global music from live performers; an interactive children’s world; an artists’ precinct; and a natural wonders photo display.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said the festival’s broad appeal drew a large number of residents and visitors to Minnawarra Park, year after year.

“This is one of the City’s largest community events, and it is a great day out for the whole family, with a variety of music and lots of attractions for the kids and the young at heart.

“Coinciding with the festival this year, the magnificent Minnawarra Art Awards Exhibition will also be available to the public on the same Sunday.

”The Armadale region is home to a vibrant arts community and visitors to the Festival have the added opportunity to view some fantastic art works by West Australian artists.

“We invite the public to enjoy two special recitals by harpist Anthony Maydwell at noon and 2pm at the Armadale District Hall. A tram will be available to ferry participants from the Minnawarra Festival to the Armadale District Hall,” said Mayor Zelones.

The Minnawarra Art Awards Exhibition is open to the public at the Armadale District Hall, Jull Street, between 11am and 4pm daily from 29 March until Sunday 13 April.

Armadale is also holding its annual Blessing of the Roads ceremony that Sunday, which will take place under the shade structures of Memorial Park, commencing at 10.30am.
