Community planting day
Release Date:
Monday, 23 July 2018

To celebrate National Tree Day this weekend, the City of Armadale and the Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group (AGLG) are calling for green thumbed volunteers to assist them with the planting of seedlings at Goolamrup Reserve in Kelmscott this Saturday.

The group will meet near the footbridge at Buckingham and Roberts Roads from 9am to noon.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the event is a good opportunity for keen gardeners to volunteer their time and give back to their community.

“This event is an opportunity for locals to get outdoors, meet other likeminded people in your community while making a positive impact on our environment.

“You can volunteer an hour or for the whole morning – the time you contribute to land care makes a big difference.”

Volunteers should bring gloves, a water bottle and wear appropriate clothing (enclosed shoes, long pants, long-sleeved shirt, hat and raincoat).

Morning tea will be provided.
