Open Studio Arts Trail 2019
Release Date:
Wednesday, 24 July 2019

The public will be given exclusive access to an extraordinary range of artworks as part of the Armadale Hills Open Studio Arts Trail over three weekends in September.

Twelve local studios across Armadale, Bedfordale, Byford, Kelmscott, Mt Nasura, Roleystone and Wongong will open their doors, showcasing more than 50 local skilled artists in painting (water colours, acrylics and oils), textiles, sculpture, woodturning, pastels, glass and steel art forms.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the arts trail will see artists open their doors to give art enthusiasts a rare glimpse into inspiring spaces, the personalities behind the art and their creative processes.

“The Open Studio Arts Trail will give visitors the opportunity to explore a tucked away hive of creativity, which until recently has proven to be one of Perth's best kept secrets. They might even discover the next big success of the art world.

“The picturesque hills of Armadale are home to many high-profile and emerging artists. The Arts Trail has gone from strength to strength over the last five year years and this year’s trail will feature artwork in a range of mediums including painting, sculpture, glass, eco-fashion and clothing, jewellery, photography, textiles, ceramics, wood and stoneware.”

Entry to the Armadale Hills Open Studio Arts Trail is free. Opening times are 10am to 4pm Fridays to Sundays on 6 to 8, 13 to 15, and 20 to 22 September 2019.

The trail is part of the City of Armadale's Spring into Armadale Festival. To see the calendar of events, go to www.perthhillsarmadale.com.au/spring-armadale or contact the Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre on 9394 5410 for more information.
