Armadale Arts Festival 2023
Release Date:
Thursday, 4 May 2023

Armadale’s local art scene will take centre stage throughout May when the annual Arts Festival kicks off with a jam packed program of live music, visual arts and craft, literature and culture.

City of Armadale Mayor Ruth Butterfield said this year’s festival will showcase the area’s strong arts and cultural community and runs from Friday 5 May through to Sunday 21 May.

The centrepiece of the Armadale Arts Festival, the renowned Minnawarra Art Awards offers an exciting public program including curator and artist floor talks and Positive Ageing High Teas, ensuring it’s not just art lovers that are able to revel in this creative visual feast!

This year the public is invited to attend the exhibition’s opening night and get a first peek at the beautifully-curated exhibition, meet the artists and curator Ron Nyisztor.

“With a variety of different cuisines from food vendors and beverages available for purchase, it promises to be an eclectic evening which will excite the senses”, said Mayor Butterfield.

“Another of the festival highlights is the Armadale Arts Bush Trail which brings the local community together through nature, art and culture.”

The trail is once again located in the area surrounding the Settlers’ Common Environmental Centre and consists of various artworks created by professional artists as well as local school and community groups, who use the natural materials of the area for you to discover and enjoy.

“Visitors are encouraged to get inspired and consider using the materials provided to contribute their own creation to the bush art along the trail,” said Mayor Butterfield.
