Recent figures have shown the current City of Armadale population is estimated at 82,267 (1 July 2015). The City is forecast to grow to 144,703 by 2036, which is an overall increase in population of 75.89% over the next 21 years.

Informed Decisions (.id) is responsible for reviewing and providing updated forecasts to the City, including a major rebuild after each Census. This reflects the continually evolving nature of forecasting, and ensures that the City has access to the most accurate predictions, based on up to date assumptions.

Accurate population data is integral to the proper planning of communities and enables good decision making across the many areas the City is responsible for.

.id have completed their latest review and forecasts, which now go to 2036 (previously to 2031).

“.id have been providing forecasts to the City since 2007 and have proven remarkably accurate in their projections of urban growth all over Australian,” said Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP.

“They’ve tempered the figures for Perth in the immediate future, noting the changes in the mining sector, but it can be seen that the Armadale district will continue to grow.

“These updated forecasts will provide Council, investors, business, community groups, students and the public with confidence when making decisions about the future of our region.

“The number of dwellings in the City of Armadale will effectively double between 2011 and 2036, from 25,295 to 52,740.

“Between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2016, our population is set to grow by 5054 new residents. That will mean 13.8 new residents (or four new families) moving into the City of Armadale every day for the next year,” he said.

• 8.1 people will move into the City of Armadale EVERY DAY for the next 21 years
• 57.1 people will move into the City of Armadale EVERY WEEK for the next 21 years
• 247 people will move into the City of Armadale EVERY MONTH for the next 21 years
