Winners of the 2022 Minnawarra Art Awards, sharing a $25,000 prize pool, were announced at the exhibition opening night on Friday 29 April.
Mayor Butterfield said the professionally curated exhibition provides viewers with high calibre and diverse artworks.
“There is something for everyone in this year’s exhibition from sculptures and clay to a range of paintings, and contemporary photographs. It’s great to see that around 20% of the exhibition come from local artists making this a must-see event for our community,” said Mayor Butterfield.
Judges included Moira de la Hunty, and past award winner Rohin Kickett. The exhibition, curated by Ron Nyisztor, is free to visit until 15 May 2022 every day from 11am to 4pm at the Armadale District Hall. Visitors can also enjoy a public program of free activities, including curator and artist floor talks, positive ageing high teas and music in the hall.
